So, I'm just emerging from Baby Land to post again (that's Harriet, above). Since the summer when I was posting regularly, the economy, the election--so much has changed.

Thinking about Christmas shopping this year, I'm feeling like every dollar spent really counts. I want to support my local independent book store, local artists, and local shops like House in Newport. I'm thinking that the silver lining to the economic forecast is that it will foster creativity.

I'd love to hear from people about creative and not too expensive present ideas! I'm working on some of my own and will report AND am very excited to go to Craftland in Providence this week.
